Griffiths & Hood supplies veneered or laminated Fire-Check Doors, available in FD30 or FD60 specifications.
Fire safety regulations require the use of thicker, heavier doors, designed to withhold heat and fire for a certain amount of time. The number after FD on a Fire Door specification identifies the number of minutes a door must be able to resist a fire outbreak. The higher the number, the longer the fire door will be able to contain a fire.
Fire Doors are generally a lot heavier than standard office and domestic doors. In order to hold the additional weight they follow a trend of having larger and stronger hinges. They are typically fitted with door-closers securely fitted to the door and frame meaning they cannot be left open.
The top priority in the production of fire doors is always safety. Griffiths & Hood has the machinery, skills and expertise to produce veneered and laminated fire doors to specifications of both FD30 and FD60. Not only are our fire doors produced in accordance with fire safety requirements, they also reap the same benefits as our other veneered or laminated products.
